How do I make a claim?
If you want to claim kids' dental services on CDBS, it's important to notify us in advance. We'll let you know what services you can claim for and any other information that could affect your eligibility.
If you've already used some of your child's CDBS allowance, or you can't remember, you should check that you still have enough balance remaining. You can check this by logging into your online Medicare account, calling Medicare enquiries, or our staff can find out for you.
At our practice, we'll ask you to sign a consent form for our records detailing your child's dental costs and how much you're claiming on CDBS. We can then bulk bill your payment directly to Medicare, so you won't have to send off any forms yourself.
Your child's $1,000 free dental care covers two consecutive calendar years. At the end of this two-year period – if your child is still eligible – their CDBS balance will be reset to $1,000. It's important to note that this doesn't reset every year and you can't access any unused funds once the time is up.
